Dr. Lowry is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (CA PSY23890) with a Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, Reno.  Dr. Lowry is in private practice in San Luis Obispo County, California.  She specializes in individual psychotherapy and psychological assessment via telehealth. With more than twenty-five years of experience as a clinician, Dr. Lowry currently provides psychological services to a diverse group of patients.  Dr. Lowry utilizes an integrated therapeutic approach with a behavioral therapy focus that targets specific issues for change.  She specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a type of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) that includes an Emotion Regulation focus. Dr. Lowry has experience working with both local community patients and patients in forensic settings.  Her approach is pragmatic, interactive and in-depth.  She provides support and feedback to help patients resolve current problems and identify long-standing patterns.  Dr. Lowry incorporates a blend of conventional and alternative strategies that target acceptance and change. Dr.  Lowry brings sensitivity and compassion to her work with patients to help them build on personal strengths, overcome self-defeating patterns, and achieve life goals.
